Mutaveijarit is a lively children’s music group that blends diverse musical styles into engaging songs about friendship, nature, and play. Their interactive, family-friendly concerts captivate audiences of all ages.

11.00 to 12.00 – Free Movie – Film about composer Erik Bergman (The film is in Swedish and Finnish, subtitles in Finnish).

A gardener’s son became one of Finland’s leading composers. Over seven decades, Erik Bergman (1911-2006) composed more than 150 works. Everything he created pointed the way forward. He explored and innovated, irritated and interested.

Annantalo’s Art Saturdays invite families to enjoy creative workshops together, whether for a brief visit or a longer stay. This winter’s theme, All Kinds of Soup, uses collage and water-soluble colors to craft your own “soup” to take home. No skills are needed, and sensory aids, hearing protection, and a quiet space are available. The event is free and open to everyone. The workshop is led by art educators from Annantalo.

The Miksi laulan? concerts showcase wonderful young singers together with pianist Tuula Hällström. The repertoire answers the questions of why I sing, what inspires me, and what music brings me joy right now.

Antti Mustaparta takes his inspiration from popular culture, especially movies and TV series. The drawings are characterized by strong lines and abundant details. Mustaparta has graduated as a visual artist in 2018. Since then, he has been working at the Kaarisilla art studio.

The Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra presents Romeo and Juliet – doomed love in Renaissance Verona. Pyotr Tchaikovsky knew how to weave the world’s most famous love story into heart-wrenching music. Heidi Sundblad-Halme was a composer and one of Finland’s first professional female conductors. Her ballet The Enchanted Belt is one of the discoveries of the HUOM project, which is bringing forgotten orchestral works to light.

13.00 to 15.00 – Painting Workshop – Canvas Painting Workshop

Join a relaxing painting workshop guided by a skilled instructor. Use acrylic paint on a 12 x 12 cm canvas, with the option to follow pre-designed themes or create your own design. All materials are included in the admission fee, and you can take your masterpiece home!

14.00 – 15.15 – Free – Siba Talks: Interviewing Composer Sebastian Fagerlund (In English)

The new Siba Talks interview series will bring prominent Sibelius-Academy alumni to the stage to discuss their lives, and careers and share music that is important to them. Interviewer Keval Shah, Sibelius-Academy lecturer, pianist, and presenter. The audience will also have the opportunity to ask the interviewees questions.

Tango trio Armas Alakulo combines Argentinian rhythms and Finnish melancholy in their sound. The programme includes both traditional Argentinean tangos and rearranged Finnish classics. Sanni Reilin, vocals. Mikko Patama, piano. Sami Jaakkola, double bass.

Helsinki Music Centre Choir: open ‘sing along’ rehearsal
Would you like to sing in a large symphony choir? Come and join the Helsinki Music Centre Choir’s sing along -rehearsal! You will have the chance to rehearse Duruflé’s Requiem with the choir. That choral work will be performed later during spring -25 with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra. The rehearsal will be conducted by the choir’s artistic director, conductor Nils Schweckendiek, and accompanied by organist Ville on the Music House organ.

Eevil Stöö has been an original gem of Finnish rap already for twenty years, with chart toppers and a Teosto award under his belt.
Known for his diligent release schedule, Stöö released two albums last year, ATOG and Advanced Dungeons & Dragons, as well as the Back on my Bullshit EP. Stöö is also known for his Katakombi record label.

Founded in 2014, Aurore showcases rare music from 1450–1600, performed by leading specialists in early music. Inspired by her mother’s childhood images, Jokisalo’s process starts with sketchbook notes and evolves into conceptually rich creations.
